Novel natural nano-membrane for separation of nano-particles

In this study, preparation and characterization of a novel natural nano-membrane for separation of nano-particles from their suspensions have been reported. The membrane was made from goat skin and used successfully for separation of synthesized graphene oxide from its solution. The morphology of the prepared membrane was well characterized via SEM images. The separation ability, the mechanical properties, and the reusability of prepared membrane were investigated. The results confirmed that the prepared membrane has excellent mechanical properties and ability to separate more than 99% of graphene nanolayers from it solution with excellent separation rate. T seems that this novel natural membrane could be used for separation of almost all nanoparticles in laboratory or industrial scale.
